What’s the band or song EVERYBODY seems to love… but you just can’t stand?
I’ve been judged by my friends for years over mine, so I figured it was finally time to admit it publicly:
Pearl Jam.
Yep. I said it.
I respect the musicians. Mike McCready is a great guitarist. Ten is a great record. I even got to watch Pearl Jam from the side of the stage for three songs years ago — which was an incredible experience.
I still don’t like them.
Then there’s the song that might get me judged even harder: Disturbed’s cover of “The Sound of Silence.”
They did everything I normally WANT a band to do with a cover. They completely made it their own. David Draiman sings the hell out of it. The arrangement is incredible.
And I cannot stand it.
Apparently I don’t even agree with Paul Simon.
