The Rise and Fall of Our Internet Radio Station – MFNRocks Part 2| Ep #15

In this Episode

MFNRocks.com started as an internet radio station in 1999—and then things got a little fucking crazy.

In Part 2 of the MFNRocks story, I get into more of the rise and eventual fall of the station, the guests who joined us both in the studio and over the phone, and some of the shenanigans that happened when you put a bunch of people in a studio and hand them microphones.

Then things took another turn when MFNRocks partnered with Digital Playground and became involved with the Tera Patrick Show, adding an entirely different chapter to an already pretty wild story.

This was internet broadcasting before podcasts, YouTube, Spotify, and social media made it easy for anybody to build an online show. We were doing it in the early days of streaming audio—and learning everything the hard way.

Internet radio. Rock & roll. Studio chaos. Celebrity guests. Digital Playground. Tera Patrick. The rise, the fun, the mistakes… and eventually the fall of MFNRocks.com.

If you remember the early days of the internet, grew up with rock radio, love behind-the-scenes broadcasting stories, or just enjoy hearing how a good idea can somehow turn into complete chaos, subscribe and stick around.

We were podcasting before podcasting was cool. We just didn’t know that’s what the hell it was called yet.
