The Beer Mile… Time to Start Training
I’m reading ESPN today and I see this headline… “Beer miler Lewis Kent signs shoe and apparel deal with Brooks“.. I think to myself Beer miler? Is this what I think it is? I read the article and I will admit for the first time in my life I was excited about running a mile. Not that I can, but how awesome is this. Let me rephrase that.. I can run a mile but certainly not in the time frame these men and women are running it in.. With that being said… I think it is time to start training.
What is a beer mile? Well it’s exactly what you think.. Drink a beer, run a quarter mile. Drink a beer, run a quarter mile. Drink a beer, run a quarter mile. Drink a beer, run a quarter mile. Four beers, one mile. Done.
Here are some quick rules: Runners drink a 12-ounce beer (which cannot be light and must be a minimum 5 percent alcohol) every quarter of a mile. The beer must be consumed within a 10-meter zone before the start of each lap. Penalty laps are added on for runners who throw up.

This is seriously the greatest thing.. It is important to set goals and this is my goal. To do a beer mile.. Who is in?
