Create a Short Video for Social Marketing

by: Bryan Shaw -

Have you thought about creating video to use as part of your social media marketing? Or do you think it is only for big companies with big budgets?

If you haven’t thought about using this technique you could be missing out on more opportunities to grow your brand.

It is important to keep your videos short. It is not just YouTube that can provide the platform for your video content. Keeping the video short, will let you host your video on a variety of social platforms—6-second Vine videos, 15-second Instavids on Instagram, 2- to 3-minute videos on Facebook and news feed videos on Google+. LinkedIn also features video via Professional Portfolio and videos can be “pinned” to Pinterest.

Show How To Do Something

Showing your fans how to do something, whether it’s solving a problem or challenge or how to use your product is perhaps one of the easiest ways to get into creating short video content. We all want to learn. We all have a short attention span when it comes to online videos.

You can also create amazing split-screen videos with a simple tool called Pic Play Post.

Highlight Your Skills

Showcase your skills, and be entertaining. Include a call to action for your product. After all, Seeing is believing, so showcase your product and how it can benefit your fans / followers.

Showcase an Event

If you have an event or celebration coming up, it’s likely that others in your field will be looking for relevant content to share.

Reveal a New Product

Reveal a new product that is new to your business. It’s not only fun and creative, but it also appeals to the side of us that wants to be the first to know about a company’s new product.

Go Behind the Scenes

I have always felt this is one of the coolest ways to use video. It gives your audience an insight into how your business operates. The video might show how the employees interact and what can happen during the day at your office.

Remember you don’t have to have a big budget or be a video professional, utilize what you have to create your videos.
